Today we break down the stats and facts from the Juventus midfield

The heart of the Bianconeri's game passes through the midfield. And the numbers of the current leaders are quite clear (although obviously, when it comes to game sequences, passes and ball possession, the data refers to all departments).

Juventus has the most game sequences in Serie A with at least 10 passes made in the current domestic campaign (461, almost an average of 18 per match).

The Juventus team has the second best ball possession in this league, behind Napoli: in his previous three seasons at Napoli, Maurizio Sarri's team has always had the best ball possession in Serie A - in fact, Juve's 59.3% of possession in this Serie A season (2019 / 20) is the best result for the Bianconeri since 2011/12.

Juventus also boast the best percentage of successful passes in the league (88%)

Not only that: Juve is second - again behind Napoli - for successful passes (13 183) and first in terms of passing accuracy (87.75%).

      INDIVIDUAL DATA

Rodrigo Bentancur has six assists to his name (in the top 10 in Serie A), while Miralem Pjanic has made 135 balls recoveries (also the result of 38 tackles), while overall, a total of 3429 successful passes have been made between Pjanic, Bentancur, Rabiot and Matuidi.

      AN EXAMPLE: JUVE-INTER

The last match played by the Bianconeri a little over a month ago was Juve-Inter. Here is an example of how the Juventus midfield works, starting from the recovery of the ball in the defensive phase.

Aaron Ramsey was decisive in that match for the Old Lady, as he bagged both a goal and an assist.

Before him, the last Juventus player who had both scored and provided assists during the same Serie A match against Inter Milan was Fabio Quagliarella in March 2013. Aaron scored in two consecutive league matches for the first time from October 2017, in that case he was wearing the Arsenal shirt.

Ramsey has scored three goals in the league this season, the last Welsh player to do better in a single Serie A season was Ian Rush in 1987/88. He scored seven goals whilst playing for Juventus.
