Water Management

Recognising the importance of water as a resource, Juventus pays particular attention to its management, with the aim of promoting increasingly responsible consumption. To this end, the Club is committed to monitoring and reporting water consumption associated with its sporting and business activities.

Juventus' water supply systems primarily rely on water sourced from:

  • Municipal water networks;

  • The artificial lake at JTCV, which serves as a water collection basin and is used to irrigate the site's training pitches;

  • A rainwater collection tank located at JHQ.

Irrigation

Juventus manages approximately 128,000 m² of green areas dedicated to sporting activities. Irrigation requirements vary depending on the agronomic characteristics of the pitches and the operational needs associated with sporting activities. During the winter season, these areas are generally irrigated once a day on average, while in summer, irrigation frequency may increase depending on weather conditions and the state of the playing surfaces.

To support irrigation management, the Club uses tools and technologies that enable more accurate monitoring of pitch conditions. At the Allianz Stadium, for example, the irrigation system is supported by soil moisture sensors and a weather station that collects data to help plan irrigation activities. The system is also divided into different irrigation zones, allowing watering to be adjusted according to the specific conditions of each area of the pitch.

Similar monitoring solutions have progressively been introduced at the training centres. At the Juventus Training Center in Continassa and on selected pitches at the Juventus Training Center in Vinovo, dedicated sensor systems monitor soil moisture levels, supporting agronomic management activities.

In recent years, Bermuda grass, a warm-season grass species particularly suited to high temperatures and summer weather conditions, has also been introduced on four pitches at JTC Vinovo. This solution was adopted as part of the routine management of the Club's sporting surfaces.

Finally, the irrigation systems across the Club's various facilities are managed through remote control platforms, allowing irrigation schedules to be promptly adjusted according to weather conditions and operational requirements.
