Player Profile
Born in 1993 and a midfielder by trade, Lia Joëlle Walti is Swiss and the captain of the Swiss National Team, with which she has earned over one hundred caps since 2011 — the latest coming at the recent “home” European Championship held last July, where Switzerland reached the quarter-finals before being eliminated by Spain, the eventual finalists.
She also reached triple digits in appearances with her most recent club, Arsenal. Having played in England since 2018, Lia established herself at the London club, winning the English league once, the FA Women’s League Cup twice, and most notably the UEFA Women’s Champions League last season, beating Barcelona 1-0 in the Lisbon final.
