Juve's most recent league victory at Atalanta dates back to 23 November 2019. It was Serie A Matchday 13 and as often happens when Juve visit Bergamo there were many twists and turns in an emotional match.
STARTING XI
The Saturday evening fixture came off the back of an international break. Gian Piero Gasperini fielded players still present in the squad today, such as the three-man defence up of Rafael Toloi, Jose Luis Palomino and Berat Djimsiti.
Juventus coach Maurizio Sarri chose a 4-3-1-2 formation: Szczęsny; Cuadrado, Bonucci, De Ligt, De Sciglio; Khedira, Pjanic, Bentancur; Bernardeschi; Higuain, Dybala.
BATTLING SPIRIT
The high intensity of the match and the players' quality led to a pulsating encounter. The vision and skill of the two teams were symbolised by Papu Gomez for the hosts, Miralem Pjanic for Juve.
The first-half ended goalless, in part due to a missed a penalty by Musa Barrow for the Dea on 17 minutes. Six yellow cards in the opening 45 minutes reflected the spirit displayed by both sides. Just before the hour mark, Atalanta took the lead through Robin Gosens.
THE TURNAROUND
An immense last quarter of the match by Juventus shifted the game in their favour. On hand to finish off the chances created was Gonzalo Higuain. The Argentine striker equalised when he latched onto a loose ball inside the area. Eight minutes later, served by Juan Cuadrado, he slammed a right foot shot beyond Pierluigi Gollini.
TANGO TAKEOVER
Fellow forward and international teammate, Paulo Dybala definitively ended the contest with the team's third goal in stoppage time. This time Higuain arrived in the shape of assist man. In just 18 minutes, the Bianconeri turned the game on its head, scoring three times.
