Juventus Women fell to their first defeat of the preseason after Barcelona Femeni claimed a 6 – 0 victory at the Estadi Johan Cruyff on Sunday evening which saw them lift the Gamper Trophy.

After having defeated Montpellier earlier in the week, Juventus were looking to add another victory to their preseason tally in what was the curtain raiser to the Gamper Trophy, between Juventus and Barcelona’s first teams.

It wasn’t the start they were hoping for as they went two goals down in the opening three minutes: Conca fired in the first down the middle, before Hermoso tapped home from point-blank range after being left unmarked in the box.

Peredes added a third goal in the 12th minute when she turned home a looping corner kick that beat Peyraud-Magnin at the back post. It was certainly proving to be a tough day in the office and after a series of defensive mistakes, Hermoso pounced again to make it 4-0.

Juventus’ first chance arrived in the 23rd minute when Lundorf burst down the right unmarked and into the box, she aimed at goal, but her shot whisked narrowly out at the far post. Caroline Hansen added Barcelona’s fifth goal when her ball went through the legs of Peyraud-Magnin for the final goal of the half.

The second half started with another Barcelona goal: Peyraud-Magnin’s forward pass was intercepted by Vilamala, and she made no mistake in firing it home. The No.16 made a great save to palm away Guijarro’s dangerous effort, while Caruso flashed wide of goal, as the game ended in favour of Barcelona.

Juventus XI: Peyraud-Magnin; Lundorf, Gama, Salvai, Boattin; Rosucci, Zamanian, Caruso; Bonansea, Girelli, Cernoia

Subs: Aprile, Soggiu, Hyyrynen, Nilden, Caiazzo, Staskova, Giai, Berti, Bonfantini, Beccari, Pfattner, Lenzini.
