A brace from Barbara Bonansea, the usual strike from Cristiana Girelli and a maiden goal for Alice Berti saw Juventus Women run out as 4-1 winners against Swiss outfit Servette in their second summer friendly, played in driving rain at Vinovo on Saturday.

Joe Montemurro set up his side in an attacking formation with three at the back but Servette made it clear from the outset they would provide a sterner test than Juve's previous opponents Birkirkara.

The Swiss champions kept the Bianconere quiet in the opening minutes until Girelli was presented with the first chance: she met Valentina Cernoia's corner at the near post but couldn't find the target.

Cernoia and Bonansea were linking up well and posing the biggest threat for Servette – and it was this partnership that produced the opening goal. Cernoia sent in an inch-perfect delivery from the left and Bonansea steered home at the back post.

Annahita Zamanian had a couple of efforts to double the lead before the break but the score remained unchanged at half time.

Montemurro made several changes during the break, yet Juve continued to boss proceedings.

Servette almost scored against the run of play in the 52nd minute when Natalia Padilla found herself in a great position but she couldn't direct her shot on target.

That seemed to jolt the Bianconere to life and a minute later it was 2-0. This time Bonansea did it all alone: winning the ball in opposition territory, she spotted the keeper off her line and finished brilliantly.

The second goal knocked the wind out of Servette's sails and Juve proceeded to carve out chance upon chance, first through Andrea Staskova and then Girelli, before Bonansea had the opportunity for her hat-trick.

Once again it was Cernoia the provider as she hit a superb long ball up for Barbara. The No.11 found herself one on one with the keeper but was unable to notch her third of the night.

Montemurro then brought on all the academy youngsters with the first team and it was one of those who got the fourth, after Thais Hurni had pulled a goal back for Servette.

Chiara Beccari, making her first appearance for the senior side, timed her run perfectly to latch onto Martina Lenzini's pass and teed up 17-year-old Alice Berti to slot home.

Clearly a goal for the future – what better way to wrap up the match and prepare for the new season?
