Howedes: A great day for me and the team

In his second Bianconeri start, Benedikt Howedes notched his first Bianconeri goal with an expert header off Douglas Costa’s perfect cross. The German spoke after today’s 3-0 win over Sampdoria.

“I’m very happy. It was a great day for me and for the team,” said Howedes in excellent Italian. “Douglas Costa created a great assist and for me it was easy to score.”

“We’ve created three goals, and two by Germans with Khedira also scoring. We’ve opened up a bigger gap in the standings too…it was all really a perfect day, but now we have to win also at Crotone. This will be a very important week coming up.”
