There were contrasting fortunes for the Bianconeri’s youth academy as all three teams sides took to the field on Sunday.
Here’s a quick round-up of how they all got on:
Primavera: Pro Vercelli 1-4 Juventus
A consummate display from Fabio Grosso’s charges saw his Primavera outfit dismantle Pro Vercelli and register a comfortable 4-1 triumph yesterday.
The Bianconeri raced into a two-goal lead after only 34 minutes thanks to two quick-fire strikes from Carlos Blanco Moreno and King Udoh before the hosts pulled one back through Ernesto Starita with around half an hour to play.
But that goal did not derail the visitors who closed the game out following Andrea Favilli's fine long-range effort and Younes Bnou-Marzouk’s stoppage-time finish.
Next up for Grosso’s young guns is a tasty home meeting against table-topping Fiorentina in Vinovo on Saturday 14 March.
Allievi Nazionali: Juventus 1-2 Trapani
The Allievi Nazionali suffered their fourth reverse of the term as lowly Trapani came away from Chisola with a 2-1 success.
Simone Muratore halved the deficit for Felice Tufano’s troops on 31 minutes after goals from Enrico Canino and Giannarivaro had seen the Sicilians make it 2-0 early on.
But despite knocking at the door for the remainder of Sunday’s contest, Juventus were unable to find their way past a stubborn Trapani rearguard.
Tufano and his players will look to put this disappointment behind them and get back to winning ways when they travel to fourth-placed Fiorentina in 13 days’ time.
Giovanissimi Nazionali: Varese 0-5 Juventus
Claudio Gabetta’s Giovanissimi Nazionali upped the pressure on high-flying Genoa with a fine 5-0 triumph against Varese in Lombardy.
The Bianconeri starlets, who currently lie second in the domestic standings, took hold of the encounter after only 29 minutes courtesy of two strikes in 120 seconds from Alessandro Lombardi and Thomas Quaranta.
Further gloss was added to an already one-sided scoreline in the second half as Nicolò D’Agostino, Fabrizio Caligara and Christian Alessandria stamped their mark on proceedings.
Juventus will hope to close the gap on the Rossoblu by making it seven wins on the bounce when they host midtable Alessandria this coming Sunday.
