A first win in this season’s UEFA Youth League came the way of Simone Padoin’s Juventus with a 6-2 win away to Bodo/Glimt.

THE MATCH

Expectedly, unforgiving cold temperatures greeted the young Bianconeri in Norway, but they showed plenty of character and managed them in the best way possible.

Early on, each of Josue Grelaud, Enzo Keutgen and Marco Tiozzo looked to pose problems for their hosts, and it wasn’t until the 20th minute that the Norwegians were able to threaten.

Gabriele Finocchiaro and Francesco Leone probed again for Juventus, before Tiozzo returned to try his luck once more shortly after the half-hour mark.

The pressure finally told, and twice, with Ivan Lopez netting a brace between the 35th and 38th minute to leave Bodo/Glimt with a lot of work to do to turn things around. It could have been 3-0 before the break as well, but Finocchiaro missed a penalty.

The second half started at a real pace, and the Bianconeri got their third through an own goal. But the hosts reacted and Ask Grundstad Rodahl made it 3-1 soon after.

Then, though, Edoardo Vallana, Adam Sosna and Arman Durmisi all found the target to make it a margin of five. Eryk Lukaszka did then score for the Norwegians to make it 6-2, and that was where the scoring would stop.

And so, the win leaves Juventus with some hope of qualifying for the next round.
