As it was in the first and second pre-season friendlies, Juventus Women's main objective against Brescia on Thursday evening was to get minutes in the legs ahead of competitive action starting in the form of the Women's Champions League qualification mini-tournament.

Well, that goal was achieved, and then some. Our Bianconere ran out 6-0 winners in Vinovo.

The goals were shared around on the evening as well. Arianna Caruso netted twice, with Lineth Beerensteyn and Barbara Bonansea also joining the list of familiar faces on the scoresheet. Maelle Garbino got her first goal for the club, and an own goal completed the scoring.

The game

The Bianconere were strong from the off and opened the scoring in the 11th minute. Caruso got things going with a fine strike from outside the box that was never going to be stopped.

Five minutes later the lead was doubled and Caru was again involved. This time, though, she was the creator and teed up Garbino for her first goal with us.

Beerensteyn came close to adding a third but a fine stop from Giorgia Bettineschi prevented her from finding the net.

Juve kept knocking though, and Beerensteyn again went close to win a corner. From the subsequent set piece a chance fell Cristiana Girelli's way, but her header went behind.

The third goal was coming and it came, and it was a case of third time lucky for Lineth. She pounced on a Brescia mistake and put further daylight between the sides.

The second half started as the first ended, with Caru adding Juve's fourth and her second of the day in the 48th minute.

Bonansea went close in the 70th minute but shot over, and then a found the net with a perfectly curled effort moments later.

There was still time for a sixth, and it came after Julia Grosso had come close. Beerensteyn was again involved, but it was an own goal that added to the scoreline.

Now, all attention is on the Women's Champions League qualification mini-tournament in Frankfurt.

Arianna Caruso's post-match comments

"These last 10 days were important because we came into them off the back of an intense week of work. We played three games and they were exactly what we needed to prepare us for our first competitive game. After tonight's game against Brescia, the friendlies are over and our focus is immediately onto training to be ready for next Wednesday (September 6, 2023), when we play in the Women's Champions League mini-tournament.

"Of course I'm happy with the two goals I scored, but the most important thing today was to have our movements right and the things we've worked on in training. We did well and there are positives to take from the evening. Now we want to continue riding this wave of positivity."
