Stefano Braghin, the Women's Team Director, commented on the Bianconere's moment after the team qualified for the final of the Coppa Italia, defeating Inter 2-1 after extra time.

"Matches like these tell us that over the years the gap over the Italian teams has narrowed a lot. Teams against which in the past we managed to have a clear supremacy over are now putting us in difficulty and this means that we have much less of an advantage than before. Undoubtedly in part it is thanks to the work of the other teams, but there have also been errors of judgment on our part, for which I am obviously primarily responsible because they have made up so much ground on us, it means that we have done something wrong.

"Even today we had many chances that we didn't take, but you don't win with 'almost goals' or a good game without scoring and the winning most compliments doesn't interest me. Right now it's evident that we have difficulty finishing off the play we produce and in the closing stages we often get caught out. This is a sign of a lack of balance and this limits us. The quality of our games is good, our play is entertaining, but right now we aren't able to make it count and I think this is our biggest limitation at the moment. Losing players every game through injury complicates things, there are always teams that are luckier than others in this regard.

"We begin the second phase of the season with the awareness that they will all be tough matches. We absolutely have to defend our position in the Champions League qualifying positions, which is crucial for the future of our project, given that UEFA represents one of our greatest sources of revenue. Today we are much closer to Fiorentina, Inter and Milan than to Roma, who are currently one of the strongest teams in Europe and we have been the only side that has managed to beat them twice, but that doesn't mean much, because if they have eight points more than us it means they are better. I think the title is only theirs to lose. In any case, it will be our duty to try until the end, staying focused on our real goal, which is qualification for the Champions League. In the end, what happens on the pitch will tell us what we have achieved."
