Giuseppe Marotta says this afternoon’s traditional pre-season friendly in Villar Perosa is a fitting way to celebrate the Agnelli family’s illustrious contribution to Juventus Football Club.
Speaking exclusively to Juventus.com before kick-off, he began: “We know how much this day and Juventus mean to the Agnelli family. The fact that we currently have an Agnelli as president tells us all we need to know about the importance of continuity and sense of belonging at the club. It is also a day for recalling important members of the family such as Giovanni and Umberto Agnelli.”
The club CEO made the short trip west to Val Chisone to see the Scudetto, Coppa Italia and Super Cup trophies paraded ahead of today’s match between the first team and the Primavera.
And with a brand new Serie A campaign beginning when Udinese travel to Juventus Stadium on Sunday, Marotta believes there should be plenty of room for optimism in the camp as the Bianconeri prepare to launch their assault on further silverware.
“We need to be optimistic and, as with every season, go into every competition we face with the aim of winning. This year is no different, and we’re setting off with plenty of desire.”
