Nineteen years ago this Friday, 15 December, a tragedy brought an untimely end to the lives and dreams of Alessio Ferramosco and Riccardo Neri, two 17-year-old boys who wore the Bianconeri colours and looked towards the future as only youngsters can: with passion and dreaming of a career in football.
Riccardo was a goalkeeper and Alessio a midfielder, and each was a talented player in Juventus’ youth academy, each part of the Juventus family, and they shared the ambition of one day wearing our Men’s First Team shirt.
The two were bound together by their love for the game, and they are forever etched in our collective memory, as we are reminded at Vinovo every day of their presence. There, the pitch used by our youth teams is dedicated to their memory, and the players who play there today hold the values that Riccardo and Alessio carried with them.
Nineteen years have passed, but the memories haven’t faded.
