Hosts Porto scored two early goals at the beginning of each half to claim a 2-1 victory at the Estádio do Dragão on Wednesday evening in the UEFA Champions League. Teremi and Marega both got on the scoresheet at the Estádio do Dragão, while Federico Chiesa managed to pull one back to secure a precious away goal.

TEREMI GRABS THE LEAD STRAIGHTAWAY

The Bianconeri were left stunned after 70 seconds on the clock when Porto grabbed an early lead through Taremi. Szczesny passed the ball to Bentancur, who played the ball back to Tek, but didn’t realise Taremi was there, as he pounced and prodded it over the line. A second goal almost fell into Porto’s lap once again when Szczesny’s clearance landed at the feet of Oliveira, whose shot at goal took a deflection and sailed out of play. Juve then lost the services of Chiellini in the 34th minute due to injury, resulting in Demiral being brought on. The Bianconeri’s first chance of the game arrived in the 41st minute which saw Rabiot’s overhead kick palmed away by Marchesin, but it didn’t count for much as the offside flag was raised.

MAREGA DOUBLES EARLY ON

Just like the start of the first half, Porto got on the scoresheet just seconds after kick-off – this time through Marega. Manafà ran past the Bianconeri defenders and pulled back for Marega inside the box, who was left unmarked, and he made no mistake in making it 2-0. Kulusevski then saw his effort blocked by Uribe, before Szczesny was called into action moments later to deny Oliviera with a one-handed parry.

CHIESA PULLS ONE BACK

Morata was then introduced into the game in place of McKennie, while Bentancur’s long-range effort sailed over the crossbar. Both sides had promising chances flagged for offside, before Juve’s pressing resulted in them pulling one back in the 82nd minute through Chiesa. Rabiot pulled one back from the left flank, it reached Chiesa, who then side-footed it in from 12 yards for a great finish! Despite the Bianconeri’s late attempts, they couldn’t find an equaliser, but they return back to Turin with an important away goal.
