A late goal from Estela Carbonell gave the Juventus Women’s First Team a valuable 1-0 win over Fiorentina on Serie A Women Matchday 7.
Coach Massimiliano Canzi and match-winner Carbonell spoke to the press after the home game.
MASSIMILIANO CANZI
"Preparing for a match like this is very difficult because there were so many things on our minds today, like the Champions League, the national teams. The girls did well to keep their focus on the match and I have to give them a lot of credit for that. Overall, apart from the first few minutes, we played well. I think we had 22 shots, many of which were on target, and just as many that were off target but in good positions. We must continue to work on improving our choices in the final third. The fortunes of forwards come in waves; there are times when they struggle and others when the ball bounces off them and goes in. It would have been a travesty not to take home the three points today because we dominated throughout.”

ESTELA CARBONELL
“I'm very happy with my first goal for Juventus and with the win. I'm really enjoying myself here with the team, the city, I feel at home. I'm happy. We played well, we had lots of chances to score and we had the energy to believe in ourselves right to the end and find the winning goal.”
