29 May 2026
There are dates that cannot fade with time, moments when history stands still and gives way to silence. May 29 is the day of one of the most painful moments in Juventus’ history.
On that night in 1985 in Brussels, the Heysel Stadium transformed from the stage of a great sporting celebration into the scene of a dramatic tragedy. It was a senseless act of madness that took the lives of 39 innocent people, who had travelled to Belgium to follow their passion, and left an unbridgeable void in their families and in the world of football, which would never be the same again.
The passing of the years does not lessen the pain, nor does it heal the wound. On the contrary, it strengthens Juventus’ deep conviction to preserve, today and forever, the shared memory of those who never returned home.
It is a date on which the Italian Parliament decided to establish the National Day of Remembrance for the Victims of Heysel: yet another way to reaffirm, every day and forever, the value of respect, so that what happened never happens again.
Forever in our hearts.
