Juventus Women get their season underway exactly as they did last campaign, with the UEFA Women's Champions League. In order to reach the group stages, and the adrenaline fueled experience, the Bianconere are asked to overcome the qualifying round. Opponents in the first match of the first round are Racing FC Union Luxembourg on August 18th at 20h30 CEST. The mini-tournament is once again being hosted at Vinovo, with Estonians of Flora Tallinn and FC Qiryat Gat from Israel completing the semi-finals.
Racing FC Union Luxembourg
Racing FC successfully defended their Luxembourg league title last season. In the summer of 2022 their European journey was interrupted in the final of the first round at exactly the same stage of the tournament that saw Juventus Women triumph 4-1 against St. Pölten.
The Luxembourg side had defeated Bosnia's Ženski Sarajevo Fudbal Klub 2000 1-0 in the first match with the only goal scored by former Fiorentina player, Precellia Rinaldi. Elimination arrived at the hands of Benfica, who ran out 7-0 winners. On the domestic front, however, it was a season of absolute domination with the second successive title captured thanks to an undefeated run of 23 wins from 24 games, with 152 goals scored and 14 conceded.
