30 August is a special day at Juventus Football Club.
As Bianconeri fans all over the world celebrate the much-awaited return of the Serie A season (with the reigning champions facing off against Chievo tonight at 18.00 CET), Juventus.com sends its birthday wishes to four players past and present.
From the current crop, Simone Pepe, who will be gearing up for this evening’s encounter in Verona, will be celebrating his 31st birthday alongside his fellow team-mates.
On the administrative side, club director Pavel Nedved, who spent eight fantastic years in the black and white jersey, scoring 51 times in 247 appearances from 2001 to 2009, turns 42.
Elsewhere, Vladimir Jugovic and Paulo Sousa, two midfielders who both lifted the UEFA Champions League in 1996 with the Old Lady, celebrate their 44th and 45th birthdays respectively.
