With the Bianconeri’s Asia-Pacific tour officially coming to an end yesterday, the Old Lady was still making waves overseas: this time in Japan.

As it was during June’s UNESCO Cup match, a plethora of Juventus Legends graced the pitch in Japan, once again under the guidance of Gianluca Pessotto, to take part in another charity fundraiser match.

At a packed Yurtec Stadium in Sendai, the Bianconeri’s opposition Vegalta Sendai OB, who ply their trade in the J League 1, were celebrating their twentieth year as a professional football club.

A brace from Nicola Amoruso, plus further strikes from Roberto Galia, Edgar Davids and Totò Schillaci ensured the Juventus Legends ran out 5-4 winners over their Japanese counterparts.

The days leading up to the charity match saw Gianluca Pessotto’s men meet the mayor and local authorities of Sendai, participate in various football sessions with children from the local schools as well as partaking in a visit to Ishinomaki and the areas devastated by 2011’s tsunami.

The Bianconeri legends also attended one of Sendai’s games where they met local supporters and invited them to come along to Sunday’s charity match.

A section of the money raised from yesterday’s game will go towards aiding those families affected by the tsunami.

Juventus starting XI: Tacconi, Torricelli, Mirkovic, Napoli, De Agostini; Bonini, Galia, Bonetti, Davids, Amoruso, Schillaci. Substitutions: Chimenti, Dimas, Aleinikov, Tavola.
