With the senior team taking on inter-city rivals Torino at Juventus Stadium in the Derby della Mole on Sunday 30 November, Fabio Grosso’s Primavera provided an appetiser to the main course by running out 2-1 winners earlier this morning in Ivrea.

Juventus took the lead almost immediately when Luca Clemenza fired in after only 120 seconds but the visitors rallied and equalised at the midway point of the first half through striker Claudio Morrra.

As the game wore on, it looked like the spoils would be shared but up popped substitute Sergio Buenacasa with the winner five minutes from time to send the hosts into delirium.

As soon as the final whistle sounded and celebrations ensued, Clemenza spoke exclusively to Juventus.com of his delight at getting off the mark against Torino: “This is my fourth year at the club and it’s the first goal I’ve scored in the derby, it was an incredible feeling – especially celebrating with my team-mates.”

Matchwinner Buenacasa also had his say on today’s important victory: “I’m in my second season with the Bianconeri but you immediately understand the magnitude of the derby. I’m happy with the result.”

Up next for Grosso’s charges is a trip to Sweden on Wednesday where they face Malmo in the UEFA Youth League. The Primavera will be hoping to keep their hopes of qualifying for the knockout stages alive with a victory.
