Dybala: “Our will to win shone through”

Fresh from scoring the Bianconeri’s third and final goal, which wrapped up victory against the Viola on Sunday evening in front of his ever more adoring supporters, Paulo Dybala reserved special praise for his side’s unwavering determination in clawing their way back from behind to record an all-important win that puts them in fourth position in the table.

“It’s great getting on the scoresheet, but today was all about making sure we got three crucial points against a top team that plays great football. Our courage and will to win shone through tonight.

“We were some way off the pace in terms of our Serie A position and the manager told us that we needed to get close to the top of the table by Christmas time. We’ve one league game left this calendar year and we’re now very close to where we needed to be at this stage.”

Crucial to Juventus’ rise up the table has been the consistency with which Dybala has found the net this term and the Argentine did not miss a trick en route to bagging his eighth goal of a fruitful season so far up front.

Talking through his latest strike, the 22-year-old explained: “I noticed that the defender was rushing towards me at speed and I knew that I could wriggle past him with the right movement. Then I saw the keeper had come off his line, so I rolled the ball beyond him.”
