Former Bianconeri midfielder Giancarlo Marocchi is today celebrating his 50th birthday.

Within months of swapping Bologna for Juventus in the summer of 1988, Marocchi established himself as a committed performer who would go on to serve under Dino Zoff, Luigi Maifredi, Giovanni Trapattoni and Marcello Lippi.

During eight seasons in Turin he put together 319 appearances, scored 25 goals and achieved as many as six major titles: one Champions League, two UEFA Cups, two Coppa Italia trophies and one Scudetto.

After conquering Europe, Marocchi opted to return to the place where his professional career began, Bologna, where he remained for four years before hanging up his boots in 2000.

All associated with Juventus Football Club wish Giancarlo many happy returns on his special day.
