One and a half years on from hosting March 2015’s friendly between Italy and England, Juventus Stadium is set to open its doors for international action once more as the Azzurri take on Spain in a 2018 World Cup qualifier on 6 October 2016.

Assuming the two sides do not meet at the impending European Championships in France, this autumn’s fixture in Turin will mark the 35th meeting between the two countries, the most recent of which resulted in a 1-1 draw in a friendly in March. That Udine stalemate maintained historical parity between the pair, who have registered ten victories against one another.

As for Juventus Stadium, the high-profile affair will be the second competitive fixture to be played at the home of the Bianconeri with the first producing a 2-1 home victory over Czech Republic in September 2013 in another World Cup qualifier.
