Andrea Fortunato was a highly talented player on the pitch and a truly exceptional person off it before leukaemia cruelly took him away from us at the tender age of 23.
That was 23 years ago but despite the fact that over two decades have since gone by, Andrea still has a place in the hearts of Bianconeri supporters whose thoughts, along with those of the club, are with his loved ones at this difficult time.
The former Como, Genoa, and Pisa defender established himself as a regular at Juventus, where he represented the team he supported as a boy with the utmost pride.
His calm on the pitch and in the dressing room taught us to fight to overcome any hurdle in life, just as he did down the left flank with class and character.
Andrea died too young but his memory will live on forever.
