There was a real Portuguese feel to the Juventus team that beat Sassuolo 2-1 at Allianz Stadium on Sunday afternoon – and not just because of Cristiano Ronaldo’s first goals for the club.
Joao Cancelo was another of the Bianconeri’s key men out there on Sunday, with his turn of pace and strong dribbling causing constant problems for Sassuolo, despite the fact that he had initially been named among Massimiliano Allegri’s substitutes.
"[Mattia] De Sciglio felt some discomfort in the warm-up so that’s why I played," said Cancelo. "I was ready – I always am. I work hard every day so I can play."
Cancelo also revealed that Leo Bonucci is proving a great help as the Portuguese settles into life at Juve.
"He’s very experienced and gives me instructions to help me," he said. "Improving is my sole focus and I train every day to make that happen."
