Perfect still in Serie A following last Saturday’s victory over Pink Bari, Juventus Women turn attentions to the Coppa Italia this Wednesday.

It is local Piemontese outfit and Serie B side, Novese, who stand in the Bianconere’s way of a quarter-final berth. Fans can follow the action live on the official Juventus Women Twitter account and on Instagram Stories.

ROUTE TO THE ROUND OF 16

Juventus Women booked their place in the last 16 by beating Femminile Juventus Torino 2-0 in Vinovo thanks to goals by Sanni Franssi and Arianna Caruso (see match highlights below).

Rita Guarino’s girls kicked off their cup run in style with a 21-0 aggregate victory over Torino Calcio Femminile at the start of the season.

Novese, meanwhile, defeated Luserna 5-0 away in the last round, having topped their first-round group with a 1-0 win over Molassana and 2-2 draw at Ligorna.

QUEUING UP FOR THE QUARTER-FINALS

Just one team has already secured their spot in the Coppa Italia final eight: Brescia overcame Inter Milano by a comprehensive 5-1 scoreline and they will be coming up against the winner of the Novese vs Juventus Women match.

The other last 16 fixtures are as follows:

Tavagnacco vs Trento Clarentina

AGSM Verona vs Atalanta Mozzanica

San Zaccaria vs Sassuolo

Empoli Ladies vs Fiorentina

Jesina vs Latina

Res Roma vs Pink Bari

Juventus Women striker, Sofia Cantore, spoke to Juventus TV ahead of Wednesday’s cup tie.

“It’s a really important match for us. We want to progress in the cup, but we must not underestimate the opponent, even if they’re a Serie B side.”

Then, on Sunday 25 March, the Bianconere travel to Sassuolo for a league match: “At home against the Neroverdi, they showed that they’re capable of playing well and so we need to approach this fixture with the same intensity and will to win as we’ve demonstrated in our other games.”
