The last time Juventus were at the OGR Torino exhibition space, it was spring. The club was celebrating a seventh straight Scudetto, a fourth consecutive Coppa Italia trophy and the first league title won by the women’s team. The temperature might have been significantly lower this evening, but the celebrations were just as warm, with the first-team players, coaching staff, Juventus Women squad, U23s, directors and all club employees in attendance for the customary Christmas bash.
After calling the Bianconeri stars of both the men’s and women’s team up to the stage for a well-deserved round of applause, president Andrea Agnelli invited coaches, Massimiliano Allegri, Rita Guarino and Mauro Zironelli on stage to officially open the elegant gala by pushing the Start button – a clear nod to the Christmas videogame launched on the Juventus Xmas platform, which is proving a big hit with the fans.
On the pressing of the button, the lights at the sides of the hall came on, the tree was lit up and dinner – prepared by Michelin-starred chef Davide Scabin – could begin. And while the guests raised a glass of Ferrari Trentodoc to toast to renewed success in 2019, a small army of Father Christmases entered the hall to distribute gifts among the guests and add an extra touch of sparkle to the Bianconeri’s festive celebrations.
