Christmas Jumper Day: not just a simple sweater, but a tangible commitment to illuminate the future of children

The sweater is a symbol, which turns into concrete action in favour of integration and against educational poverty.

On the occasion of the "Christmas Jumper Day 2019" - a day dedicated to Christmas sweaters organised by Save the Children - Juventus took to the field to announce its new commitment in favour of the landmark: where they will redevelop and support the Punto Luce of Save the Children in the coming years, located 800 meters from Allianz Stadium - in the Vallette district of Turin.

Punto Luce is an aggregation center that falls within the "Let's light up the future" campaign launched by Save the Children starting in 2014 where girls, boys and adolescents can carry out free educational activities, that are indispensable for their development and their future (it also includes study support, reading promotion, art and music workshops, access to new technologies, sports and motor activities), thus regaining the opportunity to cultivate one's dreams, talents and aspirations. It's a theme dear to Vallette, a neighborhood with a number of children higher than the city average, and with a significant presence of families in conditions of socio-economic fragility.

"In these years through football and its planning, Juventus has been responsibly committed to its stakeholders. Today, the world asks us for an evolution, a change of pace," declared Juventus President, Andrea Agnelli. "Not only in the field where we built our History, but also in the contexts that surround us, relying on the values of Sport to concretely contribute to the evolution of the Company and of the new generations. Education and the younger generations are the cornerstones of our commitment and the partnership with Save the Children represents an important step on this path.

"With the redevelopment and support of Turin's Punto Luce," adds the Juventus President. "We give a concrete sign and will offer further opportunities to our territory. In addition to supporting children and families in the area, which remains the main objective, this opportunity is also addressed to the people of Juventus and our partners. It is a new possibility to learn and grow together by putting yourself in the game on a new field."

Juventus' contribution in favour of the Vallette Punto Luce in Turin, located in Via Fiesole 19 / A, a few steps from the Allianz Stadium (managed by Save the Children in collaboration with the Vides Main Association), will allow see the doubling of the space currently available in the structure, thus transforming the center - which since 2014 has been attended by almost 1,000 children and has involved about 250 mothers and fathers - to a real educational hub open to the many businesses active in the area. In addition to activities of the Punto Luce, those of the Mamme Space will also be integrated, the Save the Children project for mothers and children between 0 and 6 years old.

"Once again, Juventus took to the field with the style that sets it apart," commented Claudio Tesauro, President of Save the Children. "The commitment to give the best, inserting a further piece in the path taken together to win the game against educational poverty, is the most important for many children."

Thus, a symbolic day like the Christmas Jumper Day, becomes the promise of a commitment of which today, the Juventus people, who this morning wore the Christmash-up sweater are witnesses to.
