      Here is the official statement:

Turin, 12 July 2019 - Juventus Football Club S.p.A. announces that the agreement with Genoa Cricket & Football Club S.p.A. for the definitive acquisition of the registration rights of the player Cristian Gabriel Romero has been finalized for a consideration of € 26 million payable in three financial years.

Juventus and the player have signed a 5-year contract of employment until 30 June 2024.

At the same time, Juventus has reached an agreement with Genoa for the free loan until 30 June 2020 of the registration rights of the same player and bonuses of maximum € 5.3 million will be paid to Genoa on achieving given sports performances.

Born in Cordoba, Argentina in 1998, Cristian Romero has quickly gone on to establish a reputation as a solid and dependable defender, with experience that beguiles his age after just one year in Serie A. He made 27 apperances for Il Grifone, as the youngest defender last year to have played in at least 25 league games.

The Argentine scored twice in the last campaign, both of which helped his team earn draws against Roma and Udinese. In addition, Romero made two assists, being the third-youngest defender to have taken an active part in at least four goals scored in the top five European leagues, behind only Achraf Hakimi of Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Prior to joining Genoa, the young defender plied his trade in his native Argentina for Club Atlético Belgrano in the Primera Division, making a total of 20 outings across all competitions. He has seven Argentina U20 caps to his name, having made all of his apperances at the 2017 South American Youth Football Championship in Ecuador.
