Juventus pulled off yet another dominant display to see them progress into the quarter-finals of the Italian Cup by defeating Chievo Fortitudo 0-8 away from home on Tuesday afternoon.

Following the 7-1 thrashing on the weekend of Orobica, Rita Guarino opted for a new-look starting XI, by giving the likes of Tasselli, Giordano, Panzeri, Bellucci, and Bragonzi starting positions, and still saw the Bianconere dominant in every way possible.

It was all Juventus in the opening stages of the game, and they took the lead in the 18th minute when Arianna Caruso struck a powerful effort from the edge of the box that sailed under the back of crossbar and into the back of the net. The lead was doubled just 12 minutes later when Bragonzi was threaded through the ball inside the box, she turned on it and brilliantly fired straight past the goalkeeper to make it 0-2. A third goal was added by Bellucci when she chested home Maria Alves’ shot from a tight angle, who had followed up on the save made by the opposition goalkeeper from Staskova’s effort. Bragonzi then grabbed her second goal of the game, which saw the half end 0-4 in favour of Juventus, when she converted from close range.

A double change was made at the start of the second half, with Sofie Pedersen and Cecilia Salvai coming on in place of Aurora Galli and Linda Sembrant respectively. The defender marked her return to action with low-range strike from distance that dabbled across the box and past the goalkeeper, to make it five goals to the good. Maria Alves then made it 0-6 in the 58th minute when she dribbled past the goalkeeper and tapped it over the line. Barbara Bonansea was then brought on in place of Maria Alves, and her introduction only inspired further attacks from the Bianconere front line, and they added one more goal to the scoreline when Giordano whipped in an effort from the left side of the box to score her first goal in the Juventus jersey. The victory was then wrapped up in stoppage time when Bragonzi completed her hat-trick with a right-footed drive that sailed into the back post.
