A very important success for Juventus Women against Fiorentina. Now Rita Guarino’s girls are four points ahead of the Viola in the standings with three days to go before the Scudetto gets decided – the second league victory is getting closer!
But today goes beyond the field, at least up to the stands of Allianz Stadium, where 39 000 enthusiastic fans attended the game – a day which will be defined as historic for women's football: “Playing in such a full stadium already creates an opponent from the beginning,” emphasized Rita Guarino at the end of the match. “Because you pay with your emotion and, in fact, both teams were a little tight. At times, however, we saw good football.
“It was a very heartfelt outing, fundamental to move one step closer in winning the championship. They made a defensive error and we immediately took advantage of it. Taking the lead and winning in front of all these people is emotional. I look back and I think of all the people who fought with me to make this sport more and more appreciated and followed: this was really an important day.”
