Massimiliano Allegri got the response he was looking for against Chievo Verona this evening, having demanded a mature performance from his team.“It was a good game and far from easy,” stressed a satisfied Allegri. “After Bologna and Jeddah, we ran the risk of losing our focus, but the lads took responsibility this evening and we only gave them one chance. It’s one less victory towards regaining the title.”After analysing the match as a whole, the head coach highlighted a few individual displays. “Emre Can had an excellent game, he has great technique and needs to get used to playing further forward. Watching [Paulo] Dybala play like he did tonight is a pleasure. He may be disappointed he didn’t score, but if he continues to believe and perform like this, he’ll become an extraordinary player. Alex Sandro is putting in some enormous performances this year, maybe he’s not grabbing the limelight like in his first season, but you can feel his presence.“On the other hand, Mattia De Sciglio and Joao Cancelo have different attributes: the former is more disciplined and the latter has more of a spark, but he needs to grow defensively and start performing like Alex Sandro.“Why didn’t Moise Kean play? Because Ronaldo and Dybala were hunting for goals, so it was the right thing to stick with them. Kean is a young lad who needs to develop. He’s got the extraordinary knack of being able to score, but he needs to improve his movement and complete his development here at Juve.”
