Following the final whistle, Giorgio Chiellini analysed the importance of the Bianconeri’s win over Empoli: “They are a technical team, who have given many sides a difficult time this season. They know how to play football and have elements of quality.”
Chiellini continues: "We allowed them too much space, especially in the middle of the park, but we have been able to read the game well, whilst playing with humility and respect, after a difficult first half. We knew that they would tire at some point, and we went on to have more chances in the second half.”
On tonight’s match winner: “Kean must continue to work and be ready, just as he has done so far. He is a striker who comes alive in the box, and is good at taking his chances. However, if he had started the game maybe he would have been lacking that extra bit of determination.”
Finally, analysing his own performance: “I always try to improve myself, day by day, and do what I need to do. The rest is down to mind-set and experience of the game.”
