The Juventus Women’s First Team are finally back in Serie A Women action this weekend, following a month-long winter break for the league. Having won the Women's Italian Super Cup last weekend against Roma, the Bianconere will be keen to carry that form into Sunday’s trip to Milan.

Ahead of the game, Bianconere coach Massimiliano Canzi spoke to look ahead to the match, and also discuss recent signing Allison Perry.

SUPER CUP SUCCESS

“Winning the Super Cup was, of course, the best way to start the year. Winning always breeds winning, and it wasn’t just any other game because there was a trophy on the line. Of course, beating the team who are currently top of the league also makes it worth that bit more.”

CELEBRATING AT THE ALLIANZ STADIUM

“It was a really nice chance to celebrate with all the fans, our fans and our people. I hope that moments like that can help bring all of the fans that bit closer to the Women’s First Team. Inviting the team to celebrate the win at the Allianz Stadium was a nice gesture from the Club and I hope people are taking note of what Juventus Women have been doing.”

EYES ON INTER

“The biggest difficulty is, statistically speaking, facing a side who have picked up less than they have deserved so far when you see how they’ve performed. We’re similar in that sense, and we both feel like we should have more points.

“They’re a team who score a lot of goals, while we’re a side who don’t concede many, it’s the best attack against the best defence, which makes it an interesting matchup on paper.

“The numbers say that we’re the team with the most shots on goal and the most chances created, but also the team with the lowest scoring percentage from those chances. We need to keep defending as we have been, because we’re not conceding a lot and that was something we focused on after last season. At the same time, we’re creating more chances than we’re taking and we need to improve on that.”

ALLY PERRY’S ARRIVAL

“Ally’s joining us from another way of playing football and off the back of two months’ break. She’s a girl we know well because we’d been following her progress at university for a long time.

“She’ll need a bit of time to get up to speed and be in condition to play because she’s effectively starting pre-season preparation now.”
