After their important victory against Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Women's Champions League, the Juventus Women’s First Team are ready for another Serie A match. On Matchday 6, the Bianconere will take on Genoa at home at 18:00, on Sunday, 16 November.

In his usual pre-match interview, Massimiliano Canzi previewed the game against the Ligurian side, the first of three fixtures at the Pozzo-La Marmora stadium for Juventus between 16 and 23 November.

HOW THE GROUP IS FEELING

“The girls are in good spirits, as is normal after a victory like the one against Atletico Madrid. However, we are not totally satisfied, we know we need to be even better than we are right now, and when it comes to the league, we are aware that we need to give even more. Clearly, it is not enough to create lots of chances if you are unable to convert them, and the Women's Champions League match made that even clearer.”

THE INCREASING IMPORTANCE OF SET-PIECES

"When you score from a direct free kick, it means that the individual quality of the player taking it is very high. It happened in Munich with Eva [Schatzer] and it happened in Spain with Emma [Stolen Godo]. Practising this in training certainly helps, but scoring from a free kick is, first and foremost, synonymous with quality players, and we’re lucky to have players who can do it.”

THREE HOME GAMES BEFORE THE BREAK: STARTING WITH GENOA

"Playing three home games is definitely an advantage because it minimises travel time. When you play so many games in a few days, reducing travel is a big help. It would also be great to see even more fans in Biella to support us. We would be really happy and it would allow us to take even better advantage of being at home. Looking ahead to tomorrow's game (Sunday, 16 November) against Genoa, I would like to see us be more clinical in the opponent's penalty area. Specifically, I would like to see the same intensity we have seen in recent league games, but with greater precision. This is a game that needs to be approached in the right way and played well because, despite being a team that has come up from Serie B, they have started this season well, collecting valuable points. I expect to see great determination from the girls. The commitment shown on the pitch by those who play will be crucial, and I am sure there won’t be a lack of it.”
