  • Today is the 32nd edition of the Italian Super Cup: The Scudetto-winning team has raised the trophy in 71% of the matches so far (22 out of 31).
  • In three out of the last five editions of the Italian Super Cup, the Scudetto team has lost on penalties and two of these occasions involved the Bianconeri. (The successes of Napoli in 2014 and Milan in 2016).
  • For Juventus this is the 15th participation in the Italian Super Cup (at least four more than any other team) - Lazio will play this final for the eighth time. (Fourth for appearances in the competition).

  • Should Gianluigi Buffon play, he would become the player with the most appearances in the history of the Italian Super Cup (currently on nine, with Dejan Stankovic). The Italian goalkeeper is also currently tied with Stankovic as the player who has won this trophy the most times (six).
  • Ciro Immobile scored two goals in the Italian Super Cup (two goals vs Juventus in 2017), no Lazio player has scored more goals in the competition (Claudio López also has two).
