Ahead of tomorrow’s opening Champions League Group Stage encounter of the season, taking place against FC Servette Chenois at the Stade de Geneve in Switzerland, coach Joe Montemurro and Pauline Peyraud-Magnin spoke to the media about the upcoming clash.
Here’s what they had to say:
JOE MONTEMURRO
"There are very important matches on the path of a season. The victory in Rome gave us great motivation. Getting here has been our goal from the beginning, and we hope this will be the starting point for us.
"We beat Servette in a friendly match, but tomorrow will be different. They are technically and tactically strong, they'll be playing at home and then it's also their debut, so this match should not be underestimated.
"At Juventus you want to win every match, looking to be topin both Italy and in Europe. I aim for the occasion, not only for Juve but for the entire movement of women's football, and for its technical and tactical growth.
"None of the opponents should be underestimated, we are amongst the 16 strongest teams in Europe. We're ready to play our best and to try to win. If it doesn't happen, it won't be a step backwards, we are learning how to stay on top.
"The path we have taken so far has been useful for us to understand how to deal with different game situations. The girls are charged up for the match in this beautiful stadium."
PEYRAUD-MAGNIN
“We work a lot on ball possession, on the construction of the action. We have already faced Servette in a friendly match, our goal remains the same, to win. It will be a big emotion to play the first match of this Champions League phase tomorrow. UWCL matches are always very difficult, it's everyone's dream to play them. There is a lot of talk about this match in Italy and in Turin. I order to better understand the balance in the group we are waiting for the first matches."
