Pogba: "We’ll be ready for the Super Cup"

After his thumping fourth minute header got Juventus up and running in today’s 2-1
win over Lechia Gdansk at the PGE Arena, Paul Pogba spoke to the media about his reaction to this evening’s result, his side’s growing momentum as they prepare for the Super Cup and the new season, and his appreciation for the Old Lady’s Polish fans.

With Shanghai’s Super Cup showdown with Lazio on 8 August looming large, Pogba was content with Juve’s ongoing pre-season progress: “The new season and the Super Cup are fast approaching and we’ll be ready for it. We’re getting stronger with every passing day and today was an improvement on our previous game.”

Having returned from a well-earned holiday, “the first in four years where (he)
could relax with his family and not think about football,” the Frenchman has his
sights set on matching last season’s remarkable achievements on both domestic and European fronts.

There is an expectation of every Juventus side to be successful and one of last
season’s star performers stated that this coming campaign will be no different.

“Juventus demand success every season and this year will be no exception.”

When asked by local journalists for his thoughts on the Italians’ welcome in Gdansk, Paul finished by singing the praises of Juve’s Polish fans.

“We just want to please our supporters every game and seeing that many Polish fans here to follow us was great to see.”

Juve’s Polish followers will have been delighted to see their heroes in the flesh and the Bianconeri will be looking to repeat the favour for their French contingent for Saturday’s friendly with Marseille at the Velodrome.
