After their win in the Italian Cup against Napoli in the first leg of the quarterfinals, the Juventus Women’s First Team are back to focusing on Serie A Women.

The Bianconere will take to the field on Monday, January 26 at 18:00, at the Pozzo-La Marmora stadium in Biella against Parma.

Massimiliano Canzi, in his usual pre-match interview, previewed the action.

THE GAME AGAINST NAPOLI

"It was a very difficult game, but we approached it well. Napoli are a very aggressive and physical team, with great attacking depth, their main strength, which caused us problems in transition. We knew how strong they were in that area, and they proved it. We stayed in the game until the end without forcing it, partly because it's a 180-minute challenge and there was no point in risking it. In the end, we got the goal to go 2-1 up, which is a good starting point for the return leg."

THE MINDSET TO ADOPT IN THE LEAGUE

“What we said to the girls is that our attitude cannot change, we cannot behave differently. We must try to win every game. I am sure that by playing every match to the best of our ability and bringing home all the results we can, we will certainly give those ahead of us a run for their money.”

FIRST IMPRESSIONS OF RUSEK AND MALLARDI'S POTENTIAL

"Larissa [Rusek] is a very young player, but she certainly is a great prospect, with excellent technical and physical abilities. She is very motivated for this new experience; she has been training with us since yesterday (Saturday, 24 January) and has immediately made a great impression on us. As for Anna [Mallardi], this is a great responsibility for her and a sign of the club's confidence in her. We will try to give her playing time with the Primavera team wherever possible, because at this stage of her development, it is essential that she gets to play."

THE MATCH AGAINST PARMA

“We expect a totally different game compared to the one played on the first day of the Serie A Women's Cup because that was their first official match too. Since then, they have changed their style of play a lot, now they are much more concrete. They are a team that scores few goals but also concedes very few, very focused on defence and being well organised. We will have to be very patient and find space without forcing it.”
