Massimiliano Allegri paid tribute to the Bianconeri faithful following the strong reception afforded to his team this afternoon at Villar Perosa.
Speaking to the media following a 6-1 win over the Primavera, the 47-year-old began: “It was a good afternoon and we were given a very warm welcome by the fans. I would like to thank them for their involvement on such an important day for Juventus and the Agnelli family.”
The Tuscan tactician moved on to outline his belief that Saturday’s triangular Trofeo TIM tournament, the Bianconeri’s final pre-season outing ahead of next week’s first Serie A clash against Chievo, will serve as a useful yardstick with which to gauge his side’s progress over the summer.
He concluded: “We’ve worked well, in spite of the late return of those participating in the World Cup. Now we’ll look to optimise our training in order for us to be ready for the big kick-off.
“The players are in good shape and we have an important test on Saturday that will give us some indications as to our current state of form.”
