Simone Pepe notched his second goal in as many pre-season tour games for the Bianconeri as the winger’s late introduction helped the side to register a 3-2 victory over the A-League All Stars.

Juventus.com caught up with the match-winner as well as Paul Pogba to discuss the action from this evening’s spectacle at ANZ Stadium.

Pepe began the interview by outlining his determination to improve his match fitness ahead of the new campaign: “The most important thing for me was to be back fit for selection.

“I’m happy to have been able to play a part in these friendlies in Indonesia and Australia. After two years on the sidelines, it’s a great feeling and I want to continue working hard so I can get even stronger.”

Pogba, who brought the Bianconeri level with a crisp volley in the dying embers of the game, praised the team’s mentality and fitness over the course of a testing 90 minutes.

“Today’s game was tougher than the first we played. We did what we needed to, got the win and it was a good workout for us.

“You can see that we’re working hard and that’s exactly what we need to do in order to be ready for the start of the league season.”

Pogba concluded proceedings by expressing his delight at the reception he and his team-mates were afforded inside the ANZ Stadium this evening: “It’s great to see people here for the football. I didn’t expect such a welcome in Australia.”
