Fernando Llorente was quick to voice his delight at the sensational reception Juventus were afforded tonight in Jakarta, hailing the Indonesian fans for their magnificent support throughout an entertaining 90 minutes.
The striker, whose first-half hat-trick set the Bianconeri on their way to a comprehensive 8-1 victory over the ISL All Stars, confirmed the adoring crowd made for a special evening for all concerned.
Speaking after the game, the 29-year-old began: “I would like to thank all the fans who came here to see us. It’s truly amazing to travel to this part of the world see such great support. We really enjoyed the game and it was a good workout for us.”
Whilst naturally delighted with his personal contribution, Llorente acknowledged there is still a considerable way to go before the Bianconeri can consider themselves fully geared up for the big kick-off at the end of the month.
“We still need to improve in every respect because this year will be even tougher for us, every Serie A side will want to win and we need to prepare well, also as far as the Champions League is concerned.”
The Spanish frontman concluded by expressing his satisfaction at how this season’s pre-season preparations are panning out.
He added: “Our fitness is coming on well, it’s always difficult at this time of year because we’re working a great deal. It’s not easy but we’re used to it and pleased with what we’re doing.”
