Over 5,000 supporters were treated to an entertaining seven-goal encounter as the Bianconeri first-team marked their return to Italian soil by overcoming their younger counterparts 6-1 in this evening’s Villar Perosa friendly against the Primavera.

Carlos Tevez got Massimiliano Allegri’s troops off and running with a quick-fire double either side of Albert Roussos’ momentary leveller, while strikes from Stephan Lichtsteiner, Roberto Pereyra and Mattia Vitale ensured a five-goal lead was established by the break.

With a raft of half-time changes from both sides breaking up the rhythm of a fast-paced opening 45 minutes, Sergio Buenacasa scored the sixth and final goal of the game just shy of the hour mark, ensuring a comfortable triumph for Allegri’s men in their penultimate pre-season test ahead of Saturday’s Trofeo TIM.

After being rested for Saturday’s final friendly of the Asia-Pacific tour in Singapore, Tevez was back in the starting line-up and took just two minutes to make his mark, collecting Claudio Marchisio’s suggestive dink before crashing a low shot in off the post.

In spite of this early setback, the Primavera maintained their composure and found themselves back on level terms eight minutes later, Roussos sneaking in ahead of Lichtsteiner at the back post to prod Roman Macek’s inviting cross beyond Gigi Buffon.

Normal service, however, was resumed within just 120 seconds as Tevez found himself first on the scene to pick up the pieces after Fernando Llorente had seen his chip cannon back off the upright.

A Roussos trip inside the area handed both Juventus A and Tevez the ideal opportunity to extend their respective tallies with 34 minutes played, but Emil Audero, who had denied Patrice Evra moments earlier, maintained his positive start to proceedings by leaping low to his left to deny the Argentine a first-half hat-trick.

Yet there was little the goalkeeper could do four minutes later when a neat Pirlo through ball split the defence and found its way through to Lichtsteiner, who provided fans with a pre-season glimpse of a fruitful combination by blasting an unstoppable shot home.

With seven minutes remaining until the break, Juventus A tightened their grip on the game through goals from new signing Pereyra and young talent Vitale, both of whom showed composure inside the area to guide confident finishes past Audero.

Juventus A emerged from the break featuring an entirely different line-up, with the tempo of the game subsequently dropping as the changes settled into their stride. The two youngest introductions, Federico Mattiello and Sergio Buenacasa, looked sharp from the off and combined for the latter to make it six on 59 minutes.

That proved to be the last noteworthy action of the game as supporters kept to tradition by taking to the field in the closing stages, prompting the referee to bring down the curtain on an enjoyable evening for all involved.

Allegri’s men will now return to the hard graft in Vinovo ahead of their next pre-season workout, Saturday’s Trofeo TIM double-header with Milan and Sassuolo in Reggio Emilia.
