Giuseppe Marotta says he is pleased by the way Juventus have gone about their business in achieving the club’s early season targets: Italian Super Cup glory and Champions League knockout phase qualification.

The CEO, speaking to the media following this evening’s 1-0 victory over Manchester City at Juventus Stadium, a result which guaranteed the club’s place in the competition’s last 16 with a game to spare, claims the Bianconeri will look to build on this evening’s joy by continuing their ascent up the league when they travel to Palermo on Sunday.

He said: “I feel I should emphasise the club’s satisfaction at the job done by the players and manager. We had two aims for this stage of the season: the Italian Super Cup and reaching the Champions League last 16. We’ve achieved both.”

“We’ll keep moving forward in the league as well, immediately putting tonight’s victory behind us and focusing exclusively on Palermo.”
