Paulo Dybala was all smiles when speaking to reporters following this evening’s 2-2 pre-season friendly draw with Espanyol.

It was the Argentine’s 90th-minute wonderstrike that earned Massimiliano Allegri’s side a share of the spoils tonight in Modena, La Joya’s second in the space of six days after netting the Bianconeri’s opener against West Ham in London.

He began: “We didn’t want to lose tonight’s game. They found two goals from two moves, but thankfully I was able to level matters up. I feel in good shape and now we’ll work as hard as we can to get ready for the start of Serie A.”

The second half of this evening’s match saw Dybala deployed alongside Mario Mandzukic and Gonzalo Higuain in a front three, and last season’s top scorer is confident the new-look trident could represent an added trick up Allegri’s sleeve as the campaign unfolds.

The 22-year-old added: “I think we’re capable of playing as a front three, it’s just a question of working at it on the training ground. Mario and Gonzalo are two great strikers who are always lurking in the right areas and create space for those around them. It’s up to the boss to decide who gets the nod. How do I feel? The same as I did last year. I came here to win and I want to keep doing so.”
