During his time in the capital, he gained great experience both in Italy as well as in Europe. Right-back Giovanni Di Lorenzo joined the club from Serie A side Empoli, and he was one of the greatest surprises of the past season, scoring five times. In midfield, Eljif Elmas’ services was also secured, and he turns 20 on 24 September.

The latest arrival at Napoli is the Mexican Hirving Lozano. A forward, born in 1995, began his career in Europe with Dutch outfit PSV Eindhoven. During his two campaigns, he secured some excellent numbers: 17 Eredivisie goals in the first year and 18 in the second.

Alex Meret started in goal against Fiorentina. Napoli has three shot-stoppers of a high level and they are the same as last season: along with the 22-year-old there is Karnezis and Ospina. In defence the star is Kalidou Koulibaly, who is in his sixth consecutive season at the club and has swiftly become integral to Ancelotti's formation. In the middle of the field, there is Fabian Ruiz. The youngster enjoyed victory in the Under-21 European Championship with Spain. The attack remains equally impressive this season, the four goals against Fiorentina was evidence to this, with Mertens, Callejon and Insigne along with Milik, all set to cause trouble for Serie A’s defenders.
