DEFENSIVE SET-UP

First up, speaking on our defensive set-up, the manager spoke these words:

“It's difficult for me to consider playing with three defenders at the back. We have tried out other solutions and tomorrow we will decide."

This comes after our difficult start to the season dealing with injuries to our back line. It is no secret that captain, Chiellini will be out for the majority of the season, whilst there are injuries to Danil and De Sciglio, Alex Sandro is absent for family reasons.

“Daniele Rugani is a player who can become important, it's up to him to make the most of the opportunities."

ANDREA BARZAGLI

La Roccia returned to Continassa this week and was announced as part of Sarri’s coaching staff. Still on the subject of defending, it was made clear by the manager that Barzagli has one particular duty to fulfil.

“I had already spoken with Andrea Barzagli back in June and we are very happy to have him back amongst the staff. His first assignment will be to look after the defensive phase of some of the players.”

THE ATTACK

So far this season, our attack has been strong enough to earn us four Serie A wins out a potential five and Sarri can see a potential great season with three players in-particular.

“Cristiano Ronaldo is world-class, and Gonzalo Higuain and Paulo Dybala have the technical qualities and can work together with him, in pairs and as a three in certain stages of the match.

“Different players can play in behind, like Paulo Dybala and Federico Bernardeschi. The formation that we are using right now is born out of necessity."

FULL SPEED TO SPAL

SPAL will prove to provide some difficulties tomorrow afternoon and will surely frustrate both our attack and defensive and Mister Sarri is fully aware of the challenge ahead.

“The game against SPAL is a difficult one. I think they will come here with a good attitude and want to put in a great performance.”

And having gone down by a goal in our last two fixtures, we do not want a repeat performance on Saturday…

"We will certainly improve our approach to games." says Mister Sarri.
